To the Editor:

Until now, I have been supportive of Jack Franks. I think he has had the best interest of McHenry County at heart. But lately it seems he has gotten caught up in a nasty effort to unseat the McHenry County Board chairman, and he’s doing it at the expense of everyone who lives here.

He really has missed the mark with this referendum to change our form of government. Franks has to know that McHenry County is among the best-run counties in the state. In fact, I would suggest that Franks would be well-served to take some lessons from the McHenry County playbook down to Springfield, where the state has been so very close to bankruptcy.
