Pro-choice candidates

To the Editor:

I’m a resident of state House District 52, where right-wing Republican David McSweeney is running against Independent Dee Beaubien. No Democratic candidate is running.

I’m writing because I have twice received letters from Mrs.
McSweeney assuring me that “Dave is a person of integrity who women can trust to do what he promises.” Because I know he is anti-choice, I can only assume that her words are code to let me know he will vote against every bill that favors women’s reproductive rights, no doubt including comprehensive sex education.

I haven’t voted Republican since they stopped giving me pro-choice candidates to vote for, so I assume Mrs. McSweeney is working from an old list.

It was a sad day for many of us when moderate Republicans lost control of their party.

I’m voting for Beaubien.
