Sheriff’s office earns health care accreditation

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Bureau has received an accreditation from the National Commission on Correctional Healthcare, the office said in a news release.

The commission works to improve correctional health services.

The McHenry County facility was in compliance with all applicable standards, the commission said.

The accreditation is the third earned recently by the sheriff’s office.

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies and the American Correctional Association also have recognized work by the sheriff’s office.

“These three prestigious accreditations place the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office among an elite group of less than 40 agencies nationwide who are eligible to be considered ‘Triple Crown’ agencies through the National Sheriff’s Association,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
