Work in progress
To the Editor:
On Aug. 31, I let my granddaughter use my car for an after-school activity at Jacobs High School. She was driving in the lane at the Holiday Inn Express adjacent to Jacobs when a car turned across her lane to park, hitting her in the driver’s side headlight, causing more than $4,000 damage to my car.
The Algonquin police were called, but no ticket was issued because this accident happened on private property. This other car’s driver was told if this accident had happened on the street, he would have been issued a ticket for failure to yield right of way.
