Harvard woman found battered, abandoned in Walworth, Wis.

HARVARD – Police are investigating the beating of a Harvard woman who was found in a vehicle early Monday morning in the driveway of a residence in Walworth, Wis.

Members of the Walworth Police Department were called to a home at around 12:30 a.m. for a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the driveway, according to Harvard Police Chief Dan Kazey-Garey. Officers arrived to find an injured woman alone in the vehicle.

The 39-year-old woman reportedly had spent time with her estranged husband at a home in Harvard prior to being found in Walworth, police said. There she was assaulted and battered before being driven to Walworth and abandoned in the vehicle.

The woman sustained head and facial injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

Investigators would not reveal the name of the facility.

The investigation is ongoing.
