Harvard woman found battered, abandoned in Wis.

HARVARD – Police are looking for a Harvard man in connection with the alleged kidnapping and beating of a Harvard woman.

Felony warrants citing aggravated kidnapping and aggravated battery have been issued for Jose Enriquez-Hernandez, 45, of 506 E. Blackman St. Enriquez-Hernandez is considered armed and dangerous, and is believed to be in possession of a knife, authorities said.

Walworth, Wis., police were called to a home about 12:30 a.m. Monday on a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the driveway. Officers found an injured woman alone in the vehicle, Harvard Police Chief Dan Kazey-Garey said.

Earlier, the 39-year-old woman reportedly had spent time with Enriquez-Hernandez at a home in Harvard. It’s believed she was beaten there, driven to Walworth and abandoned in the vehicle, police said.

The woman was taken to a hospital, which investigators declined to disclose, with injuries to her head and face.

Aggravated kidnapping is a Class X felony and aggravated battery is a Class 2 felony.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Enriquez-Hernandez is urged to call Harvard police at 815-943-4431 or the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office at 262-741-4400.
