Pride in the Tri

To the Editor:

McHenry Middle School hosted is fifth annual triathlon, a three-person relay event where the kids choose to participate in roller blading, biking and running. The Physical Education Department runs the event with the help of the entire building.

The band, chorus, student council, yearbook staff and several others assist in running the event. The PTO is the main sponsor of the event by donating funds for T-shirts that the kids earn when they complete the challenge.

Bike Haven bike shop came out this year and pumped up all the tires for the kids and did bike safety checks. Conlon and Thompson Orthodontics donated water bottles for each kid. Thanks to all the parents for coming out and supporting your kids.

Special thanks to Mayor Sue Low for coming out and starting the event for the fifth year. Not only do the kids participate, but the building administration gets geared up and completed the challenge as well. It’s an event that the participants and school have great pride in. We are looking forward to many more years of the kids trying a Tri. Thanks also to Mrs. Berge, Mrs. Krysh and Mr. Heinrich.
