Dundee-Crown event to explain legislation

CARPENTERSVILLE – The District 300 community is invited to learn about the new Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals legislation at 7 p.m. Thursday in the auditorium of Dundee-Crown High School, 1500 Kings Road.

The session is an opportunity to ask questions and hear from one of the foremost authorities on Latino resources, Dr. Emily Prieto, professor and director of the Latino Resource Center at Northern Illinois University.

She'll discuss steps of the process to open doors, educational opportunities and careers that once were out of reach. The event is free and will be offered in English and Spanish.
