Eagle Scout project

To the Editor:

I, along with the Community Affairs Committee and the village of Johnsburg, would like to acknowledge another Eagle Scout from our community who did an exceptional job with his Eagle Scout project.

Adam Kottke, from Scout unit 455, completed his Eagle Scout project at Alfred J. May Park and Boat Launch late this summer.  His project consisted of restoration of parking and boat launch railings, refurbishing a park bench and picnic table, cleaning of the concrete patio, cleaning, rust-proofing and painting the grill, and general beautification with planting.

Because of Adam’s workmanship, determination and outstanding leadership, the Alfred J. May Park and Boat Launch has been restored from the damage done by graffiti and vandalism to a more aesthetically beautiful park for the entire community of Johnsburg to enjoy fishing, boating or watching life on the river.

I would like to take this time to thank Adam, his volunteers, Scout Unit 455 and its leaders for all that they have contributed to the village of Johnsburg. It is truly appreciated.
