Girl Scouts to make birthday bags for kids

CARY – Girl Scout Junior Troop 1176 is collecting donations to make birthday bags for families in need.

The bags will be donated to the Cary-Grove Food Pantry and given to families unable to provide birthday parties for their children.

The public can drop off contributions at the Cary Area Public Library through the end of the month.

The troop is looking for donations of plates, napkins and forks, in multiples of eight, invitations, ready-made goody bags, party decorations – such as streamers, balloons and banners – boxed cake mix, frosting, candles and large birthday-themed gift bags.
