McHenry church
to host pet blessing

McHENRY – St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will hold a Blessing of the Animals at 4 p.m. Sunday at the church, 3706 W. St. Paul Ave., off South Green Street near the McHenry Municipal Center.

The special ceremony, which honors the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, is open to anyone. The Rev. Lori Lowe, who recently arrived as the priest for the parish, asks owners to bring their pets on leashes or other appropriate means of control.

There is plenty of parking, and light refreshments will be served. For information, call the parish any weekday morning at 815-385-0390.
