Personal branding focus of ISBDC lunch workshop

McHENRY – Learn how to make a brilliant impression on business clients and employers with “Self-Branding or ME, Memorable?” a Meet 4 Lunch workshop sponsored by the Illinois Small Business Development Center.

The workshop will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 25 at the McHenry County College Shah Center, 4100 W. Shamrock Lane, McHenry.

The event will feature Sue Dobbe, president of Dobbe Marketing & PR Inc. in Crystal Lake. Dobbe has more than 25 years of marketing experience with corporations, government, nonprofit and associations with a focus on brand image and development. She easily translates concepts for marketing into applicable behaviors for one’s business and personal life.

Why should people brand themselves? Dobbe said to be remembered, people must “make some noise.” She will provide tips on how to build a positive reputation through words, actions, environment and activities.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their most current résumé and an open mind to explore methods of leveraging their experience and education into a more marketable and memorable personal brand.

Cost is $25 and includes a boxed lunch. To register, call the MCC Registration Office at 815-455-8588. For more information, call 815-455-6098 or email sbdc@mchenry.edu.
