Conley Elementary seeks votes for cash contest

ALGONQUIN – If you’ve driven past Conley Elementary School on the Square Barn Road Campus recently, you probably have noticed signs urging passersby to “Vote for Conley” for a chance to win a share of $1 million being donated to 18 schools across the country in the U.S. Cellular “Calling All Communities” contest.

The school with the most votes wins $150,000 and the next 17 schools with the most votes will each win $50,000.

Contest winners can spend the money any way they choose.

Principal Alice Stech said the school plans to use any monies awarded to buy new SMARTboards for each classroom in the school, which serves grades three to five.

To vote, visit any U.S. Cellular store and request a voting card. Then go online to cacuscellular.com and register to vote for Conley.

Voters must be 18 years or older.

As of Oct. 1, Conley Elementary School was ranked seventh in the nation.

Voting is scheduled to conclude Oct. 21.
