Grafton and church-based food pantries merge

HUNTLEY – The Grafton Food Pantry is moving and a neighboring pantry in Lake in the Hills is joining the all-volunteer organization.

The Grafton pantry for low-income residents in Huntley, Algonquin and Lake in the Hills will join with Faith Community Church’s food pantry based in Lake in the Hills.

The two organizations will move in mid-November to 11481 Allison Court, Huntley – a few blocks from Grafton Food Pantry’s old warehouse at 12191 Smith Drive.

The pantry had been looking for a new space since August, when its warehouse was sold.

The church food pantry serves about 200 residents a week in McHenry and Kane counties. The Grafton Food Pantry has served about 200 families a month this year.
