WEST DUNDEE – In an early practice before the start of the 2012 season, Crystal Lake Central girls golf coach Kathy Speaker took her team to Randall Oaks, the site of Monday's Class AA Burlington Central Sectional.

Sophomore Larisa Luloff said it was because Speaker wanted to instill in her team, which co-ops with Crystal Lake South and Cary-Grove, that it would be back there when it matters most.

“I think in a way she was kind of making sure that we're going to get to this point. We're having practice because we know we're going to get here,” Luloff said. “It wasn't a maybe. It was a fact.”
