Emanuel: Spat with Quinn not about Wrigley Field
CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel says his public feud with Gov. Pat Quinn over Quinn's pick to run a state sports commission is about protecting taxpayers, not a backroom deal to renovate Wrigley Field.
Speaking at a press conference Tuesday, Emanuel said Wrigley Field is "not even on the table."
On Monday, the governor accused Emanuel of "character assassination" against Quinn aide Kelly Kraft. He also said Emanuel wants to pull off a backroom deal to help the Chicago Cubs.
