Forum to discuss county executive referendum

CRYSTAL LAKE – McHenry County residents can join a discussion about the county executive referendum during a free forum Oct. 17.

A referendum to switch McHenry County to a county executive form of government, in which voters would elect someone to run the day-to-day operations of the county, is on the Nov. 6 ballot.

State Reps. Jack Franks and Mike Tryon are scheduled to share both sides of the issue and answer questions.

The forum also will address the performance of McHenry County, and to allow the panelists to highlight both pros and cons of the referendum.

Doors open at 6 p.m. The event runs from 7 to 9 p.m. in Room B170 of the conference center building at McHenry County College, 8900 Route 14, Crystal Lake.
