To the Editor:
After watching the presidential debate in which many confusing facts and figures were presented, please look at the differences in the supposed “experts” who were quoted by each candidate to support their views on how Obamacare will affect the country.
Mitt Romney quoted the Congressional Budget Office and Mc-Kinsey and Co. The CBO correctly predicted that the U.S.’s credit rating would be downgraded if the deficit wasn’t reduced.
President Barack Obama quoted the AARP as his expert source. AARP lobbied heavily for Obama-care. The reason it supports this is it will reap windfall profits when the bill is fully instituted. This will happen because it will force seniors off Medicare Advantage to a separate supplemental coverage program provided by AARP.
This is the most important election in our lifetime, and I urge everyone to not only look at surface rhetoric, but to look deeper, not only for themselves, but for the sake of their grandchildren and their grandchildren’s children.
