WOODSTOCK – Stanley William and Frances Helen Mavis of Woodstock celebrated their wedding anniversary Oct. 4.

Frances Helen Blodgett and Stanley William Mavis were married Oct. 4, 1947, at Grace Lutheran Church in Woodstock. They first lived in Woodstock after their marriage.

He was a tool maker at Reliance Tool and Die in Elgin. He is a World War II veteran from the 818th Air Evacuation, a division of the 8th Air Force. He was a Woodstock Country Club champion numerous times and also played baseball for Simplex in Algonquin.
