Report: Bears' Jeffery breaks hand

Bears rookie wide receiver Alshon Jeffery apparently paid a steep price for hauling in his second touchdown of the season.

Jeffery broke his right hand in Sunday’s win against the Jacksonville Jaguars and could miss 4-6 weeks because of the injury, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Monday. The Bears have a bye next weekend and will not play again until Oct. 22, when they will host the Detroit Lions.

Jeffery, 22, appeared to injure his hand while catching a 10-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the fourth quarter at EverBank Field. He grimaced and clutched his hand after falling in the end zone and immediately headed for the sidelines while teammates Brandon Marshall, Gabe Carimi and Chilo Rachal congratulated him.
