Respect our flag
To the Editor:
I am a member of the McHenry County Marine Corps League. This past weekend, we participated in the Marengo Founders Day parade. Is there any way to get the educators of our school districts to teach our youth respect for our flag?
It is customary to remove your hat and stand when the American flag passes. At least 70 percent of the children as well as the adults remained seated. If our educators could teach our children how to respect our flag, our children could then teach their parents.
