CHICAGO — The deadline to register to vote in the November presidential election has arrived.

Tuesday is the last day that those who are eligible can contact their local city, village, library or township office or the Illinois State Board of Elections to register to vote.

For Cook County residents, the clerk's office in downtown Chicago and five suburban offices will be open until 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Eligible voters in DuPage County may register at the county's election commission headquarters until 9 p.m.

A voter must be at least 18 years old on Nov. 6, a citizen of the United States and a resident of the election precinct for at least 30 days before the election.
