Carpentersville woman arrested 
in heroin purchase

WOODSTOCK – A Carpentersville woman faces drug-related charges in the sale of heroin to an undercover officer, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

Alicia A. Mugisha, 29, is charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, authorities said.

An undercover sheriff’s deputy bought about 1 gram of heroin from Mugisha on Friday near Algonquin and Sandbloom roads in Algonquin, according to a news release.

Deputies later pulled over the vehicle in which she was riding and recovered about 1.8 grams of heroin, 0.6 grams of cocaine, and $2,687 in cash, authorities said. The drugs seized were valued at about $400.

The driver of the vehicle, Franklin E. Tyree, 27, of Carpentersville, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from DeKalb County for traffic violations.
