Halloween costume party at McHenry Goodwill

McHENRY – The Goodwill Store, 2006 N. Richmond Road, McHenry, is hosting a free children’s Halloween costume party from noon to 3 p.m. today. The event will include a costume contest, games, face painting, balloon artist and parade. The costume parade will begin at 2:30 p.m.  Parents are encouraged to attend and bring their cameras.

“I never imagined that this party would be so popular with the community”, said Ed Antczak, Goodwill’s McHenry store manager.  “Goodwill is very appreciative to all of our volunteers and donors for the event.  We anticipate a very fun day.”

The McHenry Goodwill also will be collecting non-perishable food items from the public that day to be donated to Friends In Service Here of McHenry Food Pantry.

Last year the McHenry store saw close to 100 children at the event. This year they anticipate well over 150 attendees.
