Large flag to fly again today in Crystal Lake
CRYSTAL LAKE – The 30-by-60-foot American flag that flies over Crystal Lake and Rakow Road hasn’t been waving in recent weeks because a cable snapped, city officials said.
Officials anticipate the oversized flag will be back in service today when T-Mobile, the company that owns the flagpole-looking cellphone tower, will make the repairs.
The cable has snapped once before. The cellphone company will make repairs to keep it from happening again, said George Koczwara, deputy city manager.
