McHenry Goodwill plans costume party, parade for kids

McHENRY – McHenry’s Goodwill store at 2006 N. Richmond Road will host a free children’s Halloween costume party from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The event will include a costume contest, games, face painting, balloon artist, parade and more.

The costume parade will begin at 2:30 p.m.

Parents are encouraged to attend and bring their cameras.

The McHenry Goodwill also will collect nonperishable food items from the public that day to be donated to Friends In Service Here (FISH) of McHenry Food Pantry.

Last year, the McHenry store saw close to 100 children at the event.

Those interested in attending may register by calling 815-385-3160. Children also can sign up at the store.
