WOODSTOCK - A Carpentersville woman faces drug-related charges after selling heroin to an undercover police officer, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.

Alicia A. Mugisha, 29, has been charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

An undercover sheriff’s deputy purchased approximately 1 gram of heroin from Mugisha on Friday near the area of Algonquin and Sandbloom roads in Algonquin, according to a news release. The vehicle she was traveling in was later pulled over.

Deputies recovered approximately 1.8 grams of heroin, .6 grams of cocaine, and $2,687 in cash, police said. The drugs seized were worth about $400.

The driver of the vehicle, Franklin E. Tyree, 27, of Carpentersville, was also arrested on an outstanding warrant out of DeKalb County for traffic violations.
