Police: Crystal Lake man pointed gun at roommate

CRYSTAL LAKE – A Crystal Lake man accused of pointing a gun at his roommate during an argument will appear in court early next month.

Derek Radesky, 22, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a shine flasher, and unlawful possession of a firearm on Sept. 27. All three charges are misdemeanors.

Radesky was in the garage of his home in the 1200 block of Walnut Glen Drive at around 3 a.m. when he engaged in a verbal argument with his roommate, according to police. He later went to his vehicle, pulled out a handgun with a laser sight, and pointed it at the man.

The gun was found unloaded when police arrived, but ammunition was located nearby, according to Cmdr. Derek Hyrkas of the Crystal Lake Police Department. It is unknown what the two men were arguing about.

No shots were fired, and there were no injuries during the incident.

Radesky legally owned the weapon.

He is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 6.
