Man crashes into utility pole in Crystal Lake

CRYSTAL LAKE - A 22-year-old man was flown to the hospital Wednesday after the vehicle he was driving veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.  

The Crystal Lake man was northbound on Ridgefield Road at around 5 p.m. when his SUV left the roadway and struck several trees and a utility police, according to a news release. Members of the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department later extricated him from the vehicle.

The man was transported to Centegra Hospital – Woodstock before being flown to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. The extent of his injuries is unknown.
