McHenry County foreclosures decline
McHenry County foreclosures continued their downward trend in September, according to RealtyTrac's Foreclosure Market Report.
A report released Thursday by Irvine, Calif.-based RealtyTrac shows one of every 208 housing units in the county received a foreclosure filing in September 2012, compared to one of every 220 the previous month. Kane County's foreclosure rate was one in every 207 homes. Lake County's rate was one in every 256.
There are 5,442 foreclosure housing units in McHenry County, according to realtytrac.com. New foreclosure activity in September showed 95 housing units in Crystal Lake, 23 in Marengo, 61 in Woodstock, 38 in Huntley, 39 in Cary, 48 in Algonquin, 38 in Wonder Lake, 27 in Harvard, 16 in Spring Grove and 10 in Richmond.
