Motive sought in Huntley stabbing of cabbie
HUNTLEY – Investigators still are seeking a motive in the stabbing of a taxicab driver Thursday at a Huntley outlet mall.
Christopher L. Mackey, 31, of the 1300 block of North Horace Avenue, Rockford, is charged with felony counts of vehicular hijacking, robbery and aggravated battery. Authorities allege Mackey stabbed the cab driver, stole his minivan taxi and fled to Rockford.
Mackey was arrested about 8 p.m. Thursday in Rockford based on anonymous tips and information that the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office obtained from the abandoned taxicab, authorities said.
