Tickets available for Pioneer Center holiday luncheon and book review

McHENRY – Pioneer Center for Human Services’ seventh annual Holiday Luncheon and Book Review will be Dec. 7 at D’Andrea Banquets in Crystal Lake and will feature raffles, lunch and a comical dramatic book reading.

Barbara Rinella, renowned book dramatist, will present “From Einstein to Steve Jobs,” based on two biographies by Walter Isaacson. In 1955, Albert Einstein dies and Steve Jobs is born. Two men, two sets of accomplishments.

In the reading, Rinella portrays fundamental aspects of Einstein’s and Jobs’ personalities as she strives to determine whether the men are equal in their amazing intellects and contributions.

The event’s social hour and raffles will begin at 11:15 a.m.; lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., with the presentation after that.

Tickets are $40 each and tables of 10 are available.

In addition, raffle tickets will be available for items that include an overnight stay at The Union Club of Chicago with breakfast for two and a $100 Lettuce Entertain You dining certificate; a one-week stay in a two-bedroom suite at an Interval International member resort with four one-day Disney Park Hopper passes; an Apple iPad 3; and dinner for 10 at L’Eiffel Bistrot & Creperie. Winners need not be present.

Pioneer Center delivers direct services to more than 3,000 individuals a year – men, women, children and families.
