SCORING SUMMARY CL Central 0 7 0 21

Crystal Lake Central 28, Johnsburg  0

Game summary: At Johnsburg, playoff-bound Crystal Lake Central led 7-0 heading to the fourth quarter of the Fox Valley Conference Fox Division game when the Tigers opened up the scoring. Johnsburg’s defense played well until then. Then the Tigers (6-2 overall, 4-1 FVC Fox) scored three touchdowns in a 41⁄2-minute span of the fourth quarter. Plenty of credit also goes to the Central defense, which limited the Johnsburg offense for most of the game.

Key stat: Some credit goes to Johnsburg punter Brandon Boyle. His leg pinned the Tigers’ offense deep in their own territory much of the game. And then on Central’s scoring flurry in the fourth quarter, the Tigers had much shorter fields to start drives with. Central took one play to pad the lead to 21-0 and two plays to make it 28-0.
