To the Editor:

I am supporting Yvonne M. Barnes for McHenry County Board District 1. I have known Yvonne since we served on the Cary Village Board. She and I mostly agreed on issues, but there were times when we were on opposing sides. Debating these disagreements, Yvonne’s approach was well-informed, logical and respectful, which is why we are still friends today.

Yvonne’s platform includes taking a leadership role in accountability for the out-of-control property taxes we are experiencing, improving government communication, addressing budget cuts for non-essential expenditures, and fostering public involvement also are strong concerns.
