Political czar
To The Editor:
Once again, half truths and insinuations regarding property taxes are being used to achieve a political goal. If Will County has lower taxes per capita, it’s because the assessments of all those commercial and industrial properties contribute to the tax base.
Even if a county executive could affect taxes, it would only be for about 8 percent of your total bill. Let’s not create a position for a political czar expecting to rule McHenry County with his/her political handlers’ version of what’s good for us.
