Fire destroys barn in Marengo

MARENGO – A barn in Marengo was destroyed in a Saturday morning fire, the Marengo Fire Protection District said.

Firefighters were called to the 22500 block of Carmack Road about 1:30 a.m. and found the barn fully engulfed in flames.

The property owners, who evacuated their home before firefighters arrived, called in the fire, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. The barn housed some old farming equipment.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
