McHenry County under wind advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for McHenry County until 7 p.m.

Southwest winds will steadily increase to between 25 mph and 35 mph with occasional gusts up to 45 mph by midday, according to the weather service. A cold front will push across the area this afternoon turning the winds out of the west.

Some gusts of up to 50 mph are expected.
