Plainfield man killed walking along Interstate 55
PLAINFIELD, Ill. — Illinois State Police officials say a 22-year-old Plainfield man is dead after being struck by a semitrailer and a car while walking along Interstate 55.
Authorities say the accident happened Sunday morning on I-55 just north of U.S. Highway 30 near Plainfield. That's about 30 miles southwest of Chicago.
State police say Ryan Knudsen was first struck by a north-bound Freightliner truck. He was hit a second time by a Toyota Camry traveling behind the truck.
