6th Congressional District: Roskam

In Illinois’ 6th Congressional District, three-term Republican incumbent Peter Roskam of Wheaton is running against Democratic newcomer Leslie Coolidge of Barrington Hills.

After redistricting, the new 6th District includes Algonquin Township in McHenry County, southwest Lake and northwest Cook counties, and northeast Kane County through the center of DuPage County.

If elected to another term, Roskam, who serves in a leadership role as chief deputy whip of the U.S. House, wants to simplify the U.S. tax code, ending certain loopholes that favor some industries over others, and creating incentives for businesses to keep and grow jobs in the U.S.
