HARVARD – A Woodstock woman was killed Tuesday morning when an allegedly drunken driver swerved into her lane and their vehicles collided, Harvard police said.

Alysha Thurow-Gitzinger, 20, was pronounced dead at Mercy Harvard Hospital sometime after 1 a.m., according to a news release. A passenger in her vehicle, a 20-year-old McHenry woman, remained at the hospital.

Hugo C. Dells III, 42, of Darien, Wis., was charged with multiple drunken driving offenses. Two women in his car – 35- and 39-year-old residents of Woodstock – were taken to Centegra Hospital – Woodstock for treatment of injuries. One was released.
