MCB District 5: Skala, Hill, Jung, Yensen

Six candidates seek election in McHenry County Board District 5, which includes most of Woodstock, all of Dorr Township, and a portion of Grafton Township.

Michael Skala, a Republican from Huntley, is a small-business owner most known in his public life as president of the District 158 Board of Education, where he has proved himself as a steady leader who takes his responsibility to taxpayers seriously.

Skala advocates for keeping the county tax levy flat in the current economy and has demonstrated that sentiment with District 158 by voting to not raise the tax levy there, although the law allowed the board to do so.
