Peoria teen faces up to 32 years in prison

PEORIA, Ill. — Prosecutors in central Illinois say a Peoria teen faces up to 32 years in prison for stealing money, electronics and weapons to support his newborn son.

The (Peoria) Journal Star reports 17-year-old James Sharp pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of armed robbery and 10 counts of residential burglary.

Assistant State's Attorney Brian FitzSimons says the two armed robberies occurred on Dec. 18. In each case, Sharp was in a car, stopped near the victim and demanded money before grabbing a wallet and fleeing.
