Hearing planned on proposed Lindenhurst hospital

WAUKEGAN, Ill. — A public hearing is planned on a proposed $130 million hospital project in the northern Illinois village of Lindenhurst.

The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board will hold the hearing Nov. 15 in Lake Villa.

Waukegan-based Vista Health System has applied to build a 132-bed acute care hospital in Lindenhurst. Vista CEO Barbara Martin says there's a need for the hospital and the timing is right. She says the hospital will provide 600 permanent jobs.
