CRYSTAL LAKE – Volunteers and donations are needed to help with a pet food drive benefiting the Crystal Lake Food Pantry.

Volunteers are needed to assist with the food drive, which will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 28, Nov. 3-4, and Nov. 10-11. It will be at the Crystal Lake Petco, 230 S. Virginia St.

"Many families are struggling to put food on their own table and have to give up pets because they can't feed them," said Valerie Money, who helped organize the drive and works as the adoption coordinator and dog trainer at Petco. "Not only do food pantries need nonperishable foods for people, they also need dog and cat food."
