Leadership requires action

To the Editor:

McHenry County Board members Nick Provenzano and James Heisler are caring leaders, knowledgeable about serious issues impacting homeowners association budgets.

A significant portion of our real estate tax bill is for roads and bridges. For most county residents, those dollars are returned back to them in the form of “services rendered” to maintain roads and plow/remove snow.

However, people living within 72 homeowners associations are required to hire their own contractors to receive these vital road services. The township has refused to provide equitable services for taxpayers who live on “non-dedicated” roads as they do for those who live on “dedicated” roads, and are even unwilling to refund the road and bridge tax unfairly being collected from those who receive no road services from any municipal entity.

Provenzano and Heisler understand this partiality. If re-elected, they have committed to rectifying this inequity. Give them your vote to let them act.
