CRYSTAL LAKE – The deadline for the business surveys used to compile the Northwest Herald Business Journal's annual Book of Lists has been extended to Oct. 26

Local business owners and managers can take the survey online at www.nwherald.com/business/book-of-lists. Chambers of commerce and nonprofits also are encouraged to participate. Taking the survey is free.

The survey results provide the groundwork for the 2013 edition, which will be published Jan. 1. The yearly Business Journal publication will feature profiles of local businesses along with lists of businesses by category. It will serve as a reference guide for more than 7,000 executives and decision-makers throughout the county for all of the next year.
So far this year, more than 200 businesses – from the county's largest employers to one-employee web design firms – have completed surveys.
