Disguised as reform

To the Editor:

It seems to me Rep. Jack Franks has helped facilitate adding a question, cleverly disguised as government reform, to this year’s ballot. This doesn’t create a publicly elected County Board chairman as advertised. Instead, it seems to create an all-powerful, executive Boss Hogg with veto power over our publicly elected board.

After voting for Mike Madigan and seeing firsthand what happens when one person has absolute control in government, I’d think he’d know this was a terrible idea. Lastly, does he intend to run for this position if it passes?
