Solving the problem
To the Editor:
Many residents of subdivisions in unincorporated McHenry County who live on privately maintained public roads have been working with County Board members, and prospective board members, to explain the unfairness of township road and bridge taxes being collected from them, some of it for the roads by their homes, but with no township road district resources or services being provided to them for that purpose.
Two candidates who have taken the time to understand the issue and realize that there must be an attempt to begin solving the problem, which the county has the ability to do, without spending county money, are Joe Gottemoller and John Jung. I hope that they are both successful in their bid to be elected to the County Board.
