Zero benefit

To the Editor:

I recently moved back to the neighborhood where I enjoyed my younger years, including attending McHenry High School. It is the same subdivision where my parents raised all four siblings. I was surprised to learn that the issue of nondedicated roads vs. dedicated roads has not been addressed by the McHenry County Board.

Our subdivision is an “old heritage subdivision” that cannot qualify for any share of the township road and bridge taxes, but they still are collected from us along with more than 70 other such subdivisions.
