CL man charged in teen drinking party

CRYSTAL LAKE – A Crystal Lake man received a public nuisance citation in connection with an underage drinking party reportedly attended by 120 juveniles.

Brian Bianchi, 37, of 1748 Andover Lane, provided an environment that encouraged the delinquency of minors, Police Chief Dave Linder said. He added that Bianchi told a Crystal Lake police officer he was hosting the party for his son. No juveniles were charged.

“We don’t know if they’ve been drinking or not, but we know the environment is there for it,” Linder said.

Police on Oct. 13 responded to a complaint about a loud drinking party at Bianchi’s home. An officer observed about 120 to 140 teenagers, many of whom fled, the officer’s report stated. There was loud music coming from a hired DJ, the smell of marijuana, plastic cups and open beer bottles on the premises, the report said.

The officer called the parents of the teens who did not flee. Some parents refused to allow their children to take a breath-alcohol test, and others were released because the officer did not detect an odor of alcohol.
